Local Author Resurrecion Espinosa-Frink at Studio 33 Art & Frame Gallery

Resurrección Espinosa-Frink, Master Teacher with CT Office of the Arts, Board Member of New London County Historical Society, is a Hispanic writer residing in New London Connecticut. Originally from a small town in the province of Almería, in the region of Andalucía, Spain, called Tíjola. Espinosa possesses a unique writing style influenced by her country’s culture, history and geography. Espinosa grew up in an Andalusian town, in a valley between two mountain ranges. She attended a school near the center of the town run by the Sisters of Mercy. This phase in Espinosa’s life was vital in the molding of her character. Later, Espinosa pursued higher education at the University of Granada in Spain where she graduated in Philosophy and Letters. She also studied at the University of New Haven and the School for International Training in Vermont. She is currently a certified public school teacher in Connecticut and a Master Teaching Artist in Theater with the Connecticut Office of the Arts.

Espinosa-Frink has a passion for art and the avocation to spread the love for art. She founded Teatro Latino Estudiantil at the University of Rhode Island where she had previously taught Spanish. She then started Teatro Latino de New London, the city where she currently lives. Espinosa is now dedicated to teaching Spanish at a local High School in New Heaven Connecticut. However she has never forgotten about her passion for words, and works on novels and poems during her free time from school.

All proceeds from the sale of her books at Studio 33 will go to benefit The Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club Latino Children’s Choir. The Latino choir is teaching young students the value of music and culture. It’s about preserving the culture and making kids feel secure about who they are. Resurrección Espinosa-Frink volunteers to help with the choir.
