Gallery

Studio 33 Art & Frame Gallery is owned by professional picture framer and fine art
gallerist, Sara Munro. Founded in 1979, Studio 33 is known to generations of locals as
the “go to” for quality, archival and conservation framing, restoration; and interesting
New London County artists exhibitions. Studio 33 specializes in supporting and
showcasing local artists, artisans, and art collectors. The woman owned and operated
gallery, gift, and frame shop, with on site production, located in the heart of the Cultural
District, at 140 Bank Street, in the historic Captain Smith House c.1840, next to the Custom House
Maritime Museum & New London Maritime Society; is one of the longest established
businesses in downtown New London, CT.
Coastal accents abound throughout the gallery, from original paintings, prints, and
photography seascapes, handmade sea glass earrings, one of a kind shell decor, to
lighthouse paintings on locally sourced bricks and paper maquette kits depicting
familiar New London landmarks, all bearing a maritime perspective. Munro speaks for Studio 33 and New London itself as she shares the sentiment, “We have so much to offer, it’s all here,
waiting for new visitors to discover.”
